Since 1885, when we opened the first traditional butcher’s shop in Zarko, Trikala, Kasidis has been a name that is synonymous with fine, high-quality meat. Continuing the long family tradition, Kasidis SA is today a state-of-the-art meat production, processing and marketing company based in Tyrnavos, Larisa, meeting the most demanding hygiene and safety standards and employing more than 300 permanent staff.

Every day, we combine our experience, knowledge, and passion with the best possible processing methods to turn top-quality meat into the finest, tastiest products that fully meet the needs of all catering professionals.

The Kasidis brothers, Athanasios and Georgios, found Athanasios Kasidis, a sole proprietorship .

A branch for storage and distribution of the company’s products is established in Thessaloniki.

ACQUISITION OF VAKREL

Kasidis SA acquires the Larissa Industrial Meat Market S.A.

(Vakrel SA), which is renamed Farma Elassonas.

NEW EXPANSION OF THE FACILITIES AT TYRNAVOS, LARISA

The company also completes a new expansion of its premises in the central buildings in Tyrnavos, Larisa.

Our company’s facilities, which have a total production and storage area of 5000 square metres, have been designed and built in accordance with the rules laid down in current European and Greek law, in order to meet the strictest rules of hygiene and food safety.

We invest constantly in modern equipment, improving our technical capabilities to ensure the best possible products.

We provide our staff with ongoing training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and rules of personal hygiene, achieving continuous improvement in our production processes.

We use our knowledge and experience to meet our customers’ individual needs reliably and consistently.
We check our products on a daily basis in the purpose-built testing area to maintain excellence of quality and taste.

We aim to offer our customers and partners the best possible service by establishing two facilities in Athens and Thessaloniki and continuously increasing our privately-owned fleet of refrigerated vehicles.

At every stage of the production process, Kasidis SA implements a certified Food Safety Management system in accordance with the ISO 22000:2005 standard.

Quality

Choosing our meat

We choose our suppliers based on strict criteria of hygiene and safety, ensuring the high quality of the meat from the very first stage.

 

Our meat comes from:

  • Privately-owned Elassona farm and exclusive, strictly selected Greek breeding units for lambs and kids, sheep and goats , pigs and cattle, with an extensive livestock farming system on pastures in Thessaly, Macedonia and Epirus, and an animal population consisting mainly of domestic breeds.
  • Certified Greek poultry farms. πτηνοτροφικές μονάδες.
  • Leading certified pork production companies in Europe.

To ensure the quality of the meat that is supplied to us , critical parameters (Ph, T, etc.) are measured daily by our expert scientific staff and microbiological and chemical analysis is regularly performed by external laboratories recognised by the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD).
